		<description>You absolutely can leave a well trained dog at home during the day.  I would probably also have to add the breed as a caveat.  I agree that it is better for a dog to have access to an enclosed yard during the day.  I think it is even better still for a dog to have interactions with people or other animals during the day.  But if you must keep your dog inside while you are at work during the day, most adult dogs will be able to hold thier bladders for up to 10 hours during the day.  I don&#039;t think that limit should be tested, though.  And if you are ever in doubt then you should make sure to have a friend or neighbor on standby to walk your dog just in case.

Also, if you are going to leave your dog at home all day then you should make sure that you are able to give him/her the proper exercise in the evening (and preferably in the morning too).  Aside from being good for your dog, an exercise regemin based on your work schedule will condition your dog to conserve energy during the day in anticipation of exercise in the evening.</description>
