One of the worst experiences for a cat owner is if your pet becomes sick. This can be stressful for both yourself and of course your cat. Because of this it is very important that you can spot your cats symptoms and either diagnose it or take it to your vet to be treated. If you want to make sure your cat is kept in good health and condition. You must ensure your pet is getting a lot of exercise and you are feeding them some top quality food.

One issue you may find with an elderly cat is they can suffer from diabetes. If you notice that your cat is not eating as much or as often as usual and urinates more than typical then you should take them to your vet to be looked over.

A more serious condition for a cat is Leukemia. This can lead to your cat becoming seriously ill and even dying so if you spot your cat looking malnourished and not eating as much as usual then you should have your cat looked over.

Something simpler to deal with is cats fleas. You can get medicine to deal with this and you can simply rid your cat of this condition.

The problem of where to buy Parvaid would seem simple enough – just go to the local store and pick up a bottle.

Sorry, that’s just too easy; it is a little more involved than that.

Parvaid is an herbal product that is synthetic and chemical-free. It is both safe and effective. Sadly, since it is not a chemical-based drug, most vets trained in traditional Western Medicine wholly discount organic products as nothing but some alternative solution that can’t possibly work as it has not been approved by the FDA.

Herbal products that are classified as food supplements or botanicals, which is true of Parvaid and its related products, do not need to be evaluated by the FDA and therefore do not have to be approved by the US Food and Drug Administration.

A wall of resistance seems to go up as soon as you mention non-traditional or non-mainstream products. Most vets know practically nothing of organic treatments, and on most occasions they will be quite dismissive of any product that hasn’t come from a drug manufacturer as they receive many financial incentives for pushing drugs from the big pharmaceutical companies; the small, independent herbalist, on the other hand, can’t come close to matching the payoff levels that a company the size of Pfizer, for example, can use to incentivize a struggling vet.

It’s therefore very hard to get inexpensive herbal products into established distribution chains. The financial rewards are not present, there will be much less residual income, i.e. because herbal products usually provide long-term relief vs. drugs that cause an array of side-effects creating a scenario of still further drugs to counter-act the side-effects, and all this ever does is to put a sticking plaster on the problems, to the point where you might have to take pills and such for the rest of your life – and that, of course, is a nice, steady earner for vets, month in, month out.

What it boils down to is this – vets could get paid once (by really treating the problem and not the symptoms) or they could get paid many times, so it’s not too surprising that they choose the latter option.

Unfortunately, there used to be a proud tradition in this country of using organic and natural products to treat all types of ailments, but 200 years ago or so, drugs began to appear, massive marketing campaigns were set up claiming how marvelous drugs are and that they are the only route to good health, and so the propaganda machine continued at full force.

The organic market could not then and by-and-large still cannot compete with fat cats and their deep pockets. If you brainwash people, day after day after day, with hype-filled ads that play on their emotions, they will get so worn down that they will come to believe the only viable solution is drugs.

Most people grow up with the “pop a couple of pills and all will be right” mentality. But in this day and age bugs (i.e. germs, bacteria, parasites, viruses) are getting very strong and immune to traditional treatments. Chemical-based drugs are much easier to find, but it’s highly likely that they won’t offer you the level of relief that you need.

Products such as Parvaid work with the body to help it heal from within. It would be nice to be able to go to your local market and find these organic type products, but as there are no big companies willing to promote these alternative treatments, you will rarely find these types of products in supermarkets, or even in the larger pet stores such as Pet Co or Pet Smart. You may, however, have some success if you look in small independent pet stores or feed stores.

Before you take this approach, there are a few facts you should be aware of first.

Very few of the smaller retailers who sell Parvaid really know much about the product or how best to use it for maximum effect, because to them, it’s nothing more than another item on the shelf.

Now, in order to maximize your dog’s chance for a successful recovery, you will need to know how to use this product and you will also have to administer several home remedies for Parvo in conjunction. Unfortunately, most retailers neither have the necessary knowledge nor expertise.

Another crucial factor is that the manufacturer now specifies a minimum requirement for four different products to treat dogs with Parvo (as well as exposed adult dogs), and yet many retailers do not carry the full set of required products.

So, here’s your dliemma: do you spend valuable time trying to hunt down a retail store within driving distance (which may be several hours away if you’re unlucky), in the hope that they stock all of the products you need, and then return home and try to cope by yourself as best you can, or you do buy the products online?

Now of course, if you buy from the retail store it would save some a bit of time (and perhaps some money as you would not have to pay for shipping – just gas and time), but you will not get any support whatsoever. If anything does go wrong, because no matter how good the products are (and they are!), some dogs don’t respond to the standard treatment protocols for any number of reasons and therefore need adjusted dosage schedules, you’ll probably find that you’ll get no help from the store you bought the products from as they simply won’t have the knowledge and experience that you’ll need.

If you buy Parvaid online, then you must examine exactly who is selling the products, how much experience do they have should you need help, which happens more times than not, and how reliable is their website.

The Internet is well known for being a place where websites will take your money and run, without ever delivering what you ordered.

One good clue is to see how much information about Parvo and Parvo treatment is available on their website. If you can’t find very much (and on some sites, you’ll find none at all), then it’s highly likely that these are nothing more than a few additional products to them, which in turn means they’ll know very little about Parvo and its treatment

Also, check to see what types of shipping methods are available. If they only offer USPS Priority Mail for example, that means they have no clue about how deadly this virus is and time is against you, so UPS or FedEx Overnight services are the ONLY acceptable shipping methods for sick animals.

We’ve dealt with 870 cases of Parvo (and counting), we only use FedEx Overnight for sick animals (Monday – Saturday deliveries), we wrote a 100+ page book all about Parvo which you can download instantly to your computer, Parvo Treatment 101 (no charge), we have developed (and frequently update) the most comprehensive Parvo Home Remedy Plan that will help sustain your sick dog until your products can be delivered, and throughout the treatment schedule, that you will find anywhere on the Internet, and we are the only people offering 24×7 personal phone coaching (also at no additional charge).

If your property is infected with Parvo, assuming you have dogs, or with Feline Distemper, if you have cats (because, unfortunately, dogs can pass Parvo on to cats, where it manifests itself in the form of Feline Distemper, also known as Feline Panleukopenia), then it is more than likely that you will need some support (maybe at 3:00am on a Sunday morning, when you won’t be able to contact most vets or retail stores, of course) to help you through this horrific ordeal.

You’ll find a load more information to help you get your sick pets back on their feet again on our ParvoBuster website, and while you’re there, don’t forget to check out the many Parvaid testimonials kindly provided by some of our many satisfied customers.

Having a dog is one of the most rewarding experiences you can have. A dog will always be loyal and devoted to you and give you unconditional love. When choosing a dog you should first consider whether you have the time to look after it and give it the attention it deserves. If you are at work all day you can not expect the dog to stay at home all day alone. It will be very unhappy and probably end up chewing the furniture. The next point is are you prepared to give the dog the exercise it needs – this may mean getting up quite early to take it out. I have a friend who takes his dog running with his bicycle every night and morning – they both love this! Have you got a garden? It is quite sad to see a dog confined to a flat most of the day. Have you got children? If so it is important that they learn to respect the dog and not treat it like a toy e.g. pulling its ears etc. So if you are happy with all this remember a dog is for life and will always be your faithful friend.

A dog has to undergo a substantial period of training for it to become a successful attack dog. Attack dog training teaches the dog not to trust strangers. In fact this is one of the foremost issues in dog training. The dog should not take any food from or treat given by strangers as more often, thieves and burglars may give them food that is poisoned. In Shock for the Secret Seven, we find high pedigree dogs like Scamper being stolen away by drugged food. This has to be stopped by training the dog not to eat food from anyone except the owner.

How to train a dog to attack depends largely on its pedigree and temperament. But without fail, all dogs are taught not to pick off stuff from the ground to eat. They are also taught not to bark unnecessarily. He/she is trained to follow a thief silently and then attack him from behind and scare him away. But to train attack dogs, it is also kept in mind that the dog does not start following the thief on his own, he should stay within his premises. A dog is also taught to be indifferent towards other dogs, especially female ones as they might distract male dogs. Training attack dogs is a very important part of dog training.

To train attack dogs, it is very important that a dog be taught discipline. He/she should learn to behave. This is done by giving the dog treats if he/she obeys orders during the training. Giving treats is a very important part of dog attack training.

Many people with pets will have purchased products on the internet and one of the things you will often find is that there is always something for everyone. No matter what pet you have or how strange the product might be, you can usually find someone selling it. This is because in most cases the product is being sold through a dropshipping company so they stock all available products in their warehouses and somebody else is then promoting the products on the internet. This is great for pet owners but also offers an opportunity.

If you would like to get involved with the selling of pet related items or any items you can think of then e-commerce is the way to go. You do not need to worry about E-bay for this though. You can set up your own store and stock products that are held and delivered by the drop-shipper. You get to set the price of the goods and take the orders using the software provided. This has been created by Tim Godfrey and Steve Clayton and comes in a great package you can find at Niche Blueprint bonus. It offers a complete solution and includes full training, software, store templates and fantastic customer service.

If you are a pet lover and regularly buy pet related products online you may have noticed the huge numbers of products available and the vast array of pets catered for. This is a great opportunity for those who wish to profit from their knowledge and love of pets of all kinds. The internet provides unique possibilities for entrepreneurs across the world and one such thing is with e-commerce. This is where you set up a niche online store and sell products in a very narrow market. For example you could sell dog houses instead of targeting all dog related products.

The course niche blueprint was created by Tim Godfrey and Steven Clayton and they were able to make a large amount of money from a website selling bird cages. By limiting the product numbers and only selling high value items they were able to stand out from the competition and become known for their products. The actual items were sent by a dropshipper so they did not even need a warehouse and the price of the cages were high enough that the commission received was worth their while. There is more information on this available from niche blueprint review.

Many people choose to share stories about their pets over the Internet, whether it be tales of how they despair over their pet’s disobedience or how they like to dress up their pets in various pet clothing or dog costumes. More and more and more recently it has become common for people to write books detailing their pet’s lives, some books even being made into films, such as Marley and Me. This book is about a male yellow Labrador named Marley creating havoc in his owner’s lives, a very funny yet extremely moving story, it compelled me to begin to write down tales about my own dog, my chocolate Labrador. Since losing her littermate last year, she has become extremely needy and has developed many little quirks as well as physical problems. One such problem is her bladder, which she cannot now control, a lot of the time she doesn’t even realise she is wet! She isn’t actually allowed into the living room, except when she has been invited. She is very intelligent and obedient and we had no cause to think otherwise. Until… one morning I came downstairs in my pyjamas and sat down on the couch. Upon starting to feel a bit damp, I stood up realised there was a huge wet patch on the couch. Upon investigation and finding of brown hair, we came to the conclusion that whilst we had all been in bed, our obedient Labrador had snuck into the living room, jumped up on the couch and had a nice, comfy sleep till morning when she got up to avoid being caught and crept back to her rug. Who knows how long she had been doing this, however, in this instance she left her calling card…

Most people love having some form of pet around their home, be it a fish, bird, cat or just man’s best friend – the dog. As with owning any pet there is responsibility that goes with it. Fish and birds need to be fed if contained, as they cannot just wander off and go find their own food. Cats can easily find their own food. Dogs however faithful can still starve due to being mistreated or not being fed, to the degree that they would eat stones just to fill their bellies.

When owning a dog, it would be nice to see you getting undivided loyal attention (you can try a dog training school) and unconditional love. Your best friend would do tricks for you just to get his or her supper, just to impress you and show their loyalty.

As with healthy environment so the dog food also plays a major role in their well-being. When purchasing dog food you too need to know what ingredients to look for in the dog food recipe from the list on the tin or bag.

You could also make your own dog food recipe if your dog does not like any tinned food, or even just to save on money sometimes. By having your own dog food recipe you would need to know what is the base of the meal, being mostly rice and or cereal. As with any dog food your homemade dog food recipe might not go down as well with your pet as expected. There is obviously something missing in the dog food recipe.

Spoilage For You Is Not Spoilage For Your Pet

Since most dogs love chicken, and is usually given as a treat, it is important also to know that adding bones into your dog food recipe could lead to problems too. Bones however they may seem healthy for your dog to chew on can splinter in the stomach, so it is wiser not to add them to your dog food recipe, but give them rawhide instead to chew on.

Just as it is important to know what to put in your dog food recipe it is more important to know what not to. Certain human foods are not healthy for dogs especially onion. There is quite a list of what dogs should not be given, even if they take if from you it would only be done out of loyalty, not because they do not know what is and what is not good for them.

Just as every human likes a treat, most people chose chocolate as spoilage, this is one treat you should never give your dog. A treat is usually given to a dog in a professional dog training.

Home Parvo treatment for your dog is a realistic option, compared to the traditional approach of having your dog treated at the animal hospital, even though many people will tell you that this is foolish.

If you’re not convinced, then here are a few facts to consider to help you make up your mind.

Cost

If you have your Parvo dog treated at the vet’s, it will probably cost you anywhere from $500 USD to over $10,000 USD per dog.

If you treat your dog in the comfort of your own home, using products such as Vibactra Plus, Life Cell Immune Support, Doggie Pain Relief and Parvaid, then you will be able to treat one or more dogs (depending on their weight) for about $275 USD, and that’s including FedEx Priority Overnight shipping (any other shipping method is just too slow, so don’t be taken in by offers of free shipping by some vendors – this free shipping is more often than not US Postal Service Priority Mail, but if you wait for that, your dog can be dead by the time your package arrives).

Success Rate

Most animal hospitals will give dog owners a 50:50 chance of their dog surviving Parvo, with the worst we’ve come across being a 33% chance, and the best a four out of five chance.

On the other hand, if you administer Parvo treatment to your puppy at home using the four products in the Parvo Gold Treatment Kit, then the success rate is 90%, on average.

Part of this increased success rate is because treating your dog at home, yourself, is much less stressful for both you and your dog, and less stress results in a better chance of your dog surviving this horrific virus.

24 x 7 support, and the unequalled Parvo vPETS service (constant phone contact every 4-5 hours or so during the first couple of days of full treatment – this does include hourly treatment, throughout the night as well, since Parvo doesn’t take a break or mount an attack to suit your schedule) if you can find anybody offering it, can also increase your dog’s chance of overcoming Parvo, but you won’t come across many vets offering this.

Care

If you leave your dog at the vet’s, then it is highly likely that there will be nobody in attendance during the night, so your dog may well be all alone, or possibly with other sick dogs, for 12 hours or more.

However, if you carry out the Parvo treatment at home, then you will be there, with him, all day long.

Remember, dogs are very receptive to emotions (or “vibes”, as they’re often known), and having people around who truly love and care for them will help in their recovery.

Effort Required

If money is no object and you accept the fairly low survival rates offered by animal hospitals, then you can basically drop your dog off there and pick him up again, if he survives, in a few days’ time.

If you opt for home Parvo treatment, on the other hand, then you do need to be prepared for a few sleepless nights, as one of the products, Parvaid, needs to be administered every single hour (and that does mean both day and night) during the first two days of the four-day course of treatment.

Summary

If you look at the two most important factors when choosing how to treat your Parvo puppy – cost and survival rate – then taking the home Parvo treatment option is clearly better on both counts.

There is one downside to administering the home Parvo treatment, and that is the time and effort it will take, but this is a necessary part of home Parvo treatment, and the rewards, when you see your practically terminally-ill and almost unrecognizable puppy survive this frequently fatal virus, far outweigh the disadvantage of a few nights without sleep.

You may think that vaccinations are the way to stop your dog getting Parvo, but there are a huge number of problems with administering shots to your dog (which is a whole other story), so the best way to be prepared is to make sure you have a Parvo Gold Treatment Kit on your shelf at all times – that way, if your dog should be infected by the Parvo virus, you’ll be able to begin treatment without delay, even if it’s 3:00am on a Sunday morning, when you’ll almost certainly struggle to find an animal hospital open.

If you purchase Parvaid, together with other products like Life Cell Immune Support, Doggie Pain Relief (aka Pet’s Pain Formula) and Vibactra Plus, then you’re buying a chance for your doggie to survive the often deadly Canine Parvovirus.

Parvaid, and all our other products, are 100% natural, containing herbs that are completely human-grade. There are no chemicals and no synthetics, which means that they are completely safe, with no side-effects, which is not the case with the prescription drugs and meds that your vet will try to administer to your dog.

We appreciate that you may be skeptical about the success rate of herbal products such as Parvaid, so let’s talk numbers for a moment.

Did you know, for example, that the majority of vets will only give your doggie a 33% to 80% chance of surviving a Parvo attack, and that’s if you have him treated at the emergency clinic, animal hospital or vet, where their costs range from $500 USD to more than $10,000 USD per dog?

But how does a success rate of 90% sound to you? That’s what you can expect with Parvaid and the other products in the Parvo Treatment Gold Value Pack.

You can also treat one or more dogs, depending on their weight, for around $300 USD, and that includes FedEx Overnight shipping (which is the only service we use when a dog has Parvo – anything else can be too slow and your dog’s life is worth much more than the additional cost of overnight shipping).

So, a higher success rate for treating Parvo, while at the same time saving a fortune compared to the average vet’s bill.

There’s only one way to describe that – a win-win situation!

But it doesn’t stop there.

Here’s something else you may not be aware of: three quarters of dogs that remain untreated die within 96 – 120 hours of the first symptoms appearing.

Now, these figures refer to the older 2a and 2b strains of Parvo, but here’s the kicker – the latest strain that is officially known as 2c (but often referred to as the F-Strain), which is becoming more prevalent all over the US and other countries too, can take your dog’s life within just one day of seeing the very first symptoms, and that’s assuming you even recognize those symptoms for what they are.

That means you barely have time to react, which is why we believe the only prudent course of action is to have products such as a Parvo Treatment Gold Value Pack, which includes Parvaid, for example, on hand at all times, so that you will be prepared should the worst happen and your dog comes down with Parvo.

By doing this, you can begin treatment straight away, which is the best way to increase his chance of survival.

Now, you may be thinking to yourself, “I understand all of that, but Parvo only affects puppies and he’s completely vaccinated.”

Well, we don’t want to disillusion you, but this latest 2c strain isn’t concerned with how old your dog is, or whether he’s been vaccinated.

It’s sad, but it’s true – we’re finding more and more cases where our customers have fully-vaccinated adult dogs that are being infected by and dying from Canine Parvovirus!

This is just one more reason why we urge you to order Parvaid and the other three products in our Gold Value Parvo Treatment Pack now, so that you’ll have them as and when you require them.

And don’t be concerned about purchasing these products and then finding that they go to waste – they all have a 4+ year shelf life.

Also, all of our products, Parvaid included, can be used for many more purposes than simply dealing with Parvo.

For example, Parvaid can also be used for everyday ailments such as when your dog vomits after eating something that disagrees with him, or if he has gas (this works for humans too, by the way!). If your dog’s a bit off-colour and off his food, it will get him eating again too.

So, even if your dog is lucky and never gets Parvo, which we clearly hope will be the case, when you order Parvaid, Doggie Pain Relief, Vibactra Plus and Life Cell Immune Support (the products that make up our Gold Value Parvo Treatment Packs), you’ve still got a first-rate Doggie First Aid Cabinet to use whenever you need it.

Parvo (more formally known as Canine Parvovirus) is devastating, not only emotionally (words cannot describe how it feels to see your beloved dog healthy one moment, and incredibly sick the next, with vomit and blood-filled, foul-smelling diarrhea everywhere), but also financially.

As soon as you notice your dog isn’t well, the vet’s costs that are typically associated with Parvo treatment just keep adding up (and up).

To start with, you’ll probably need to pay between $25 and $50 for each office visit, and there will usually be more than one.

Next, your vet will more than likely want to do take a fecal matter sample for an instant, in-office test, or a sample of your dog’s blood to send away for a full work-up, or even both. These will cost you anywhere between $25 and $100, depending on the type of test. (Be warned, however, that these tests may not even be accurate – with the latest 2c strain, a dog with Parvo may still end up testing negative.)

If it turns out your dog actually has Parvo, then you can expect to pay anywhere from $500 to over $10,000, per dog. These costs include items such as overnight stays ($50 a night), blood transfusions ($200 a time), medications ($100 – $200), etc. (And your vet will only give your dog a 50% – 80% chance of survival.)

Finally, if the vet cannot treat your dog successfully, you will often be presented with the option every pet owner dreads – the decision to have your dog put to sleep, which may cost you as much as $300.

So, all together, your vet’s bill for Parvo treatment will be between $850 and $10,450 – and that’s just for one dog. (As many people actually own two or more dogs, and when one of your dogs is infected by Parvo, the chance of any others in the same household getting the virus is very high, you can probably double these figures, at least.)

To put this in perspective, the average cost of owning a dog over its expected life span of 11 years is about $13,550, so you could spend up to 77% (i.e. over three quarters) of this amount treating him for just one illness in a week or less.

But, it doesn’t have to be that way – you can both prevent Parvo and treat Parvo using safe, chemical-free products such as Parvaid, Life Cell Support and Vibactra Plus for a fraction of the cost of taking your dog to the vet’s, and with a much higher chance of your dog surviving the Parvo virus (on average, 90% or better).

Parvo prevention normally starts when your dog is still a puppy, in the form of vaccinations.

The subject of Parvo vaccinations, and vaccinations in general, is much debated at the moment, and there are, of course, many pros and cons.

But perhaps the most serious downside, where Parvo is concerned, is that most vaccines available today (excluding Continuum and PROGARD, which are made by Intervet) are not effective against the latest 2c strain of this dreadful virus.

You therefore need other solutions, because you cannot assume that your dog is safe simply because he’s had all of his shots. Since the beginning of 2007, there have been many stories in the press of fully-vaccinated dogs, both puppies and adults, being infected by and dying from Parvo.

If you want to know what these other measures are, you’ll need to look out for Part 2 of this article!

80% of dogs that are infected by the older 2a and 2b strains of Canine Parvo virus that are untreated die in four or five days.

With the current 2c strain, even fully-vaccinated dogs, including both puppies and adults, are being infected by and dying from the Parvo virus.

For reasons nobody yet understands, some breeds, such as Rottweilers, Black & Tan Coonhounds, Doberman Pinschers, German Shepherds, Labrador Retrievers and Pit Bulls are more prone to the Parvo virus.

The four worst states for Parvovirus outbreaks are California, Texas, Arizona and Florida, although every state in the US, including Hawaii and even Alaska, and particularly the southern states, are being affected.

The Canine Parvovirus is incredibly persistent and can live in the ground for up to twenty years, with an ability to survive extremes of temperature, including frost and hot weather.

Vet costs to treat the Parvo virus are very expensive – you could easily pay $500 to over $6,000 per dog.

Most vets can only offer your dog a 50% – 80% chance of a full recovery, in spite of their costly treatments.

Although Canine Parvo has historically been transmitted through contact with infected feces and vomit, it is now suspected that the latest 2c strain may be airborne.

It has always been suspected that Canine Parvovirus evolved from a similar feline virus, feline panleukopenia (aka feline distemper), so it is ironic that cats can now be infected by the latest 2c strain of Parvovirus.

Dogs that are infected by the latest 2c strain of the Canine Parvo virus can die within one day of symptoms first appearing, with some dogs dying within just six hours.

The Canine Parvovirus incubates, on average, for five to seven days, although it can be as few as three and as many as 15. This means that your dog could be sick for up to two weeks and you would not even know it, as there would be no visible symptoms. However during this time, the virus is growing in strength, ready to cause massive damage to your dog’s body.

Ironically, administering a Parvo vaccine, especially the very first shot, can actually increase the chance of your puppy contracting this virus. This is because the maternal antibodies inherited by the puppy can kill off the modified live virus contained in the vaccine, but as shots work in part by lowering the body’s natural immune system, this actually opens up the puppy to infection by the full, live virus (not to mention other infections too).

A few breeds of dogs, particularly Cocker Spaniels and Poodles, appear to be at a reduced risk of contracting the Canine Parvo virus, although this does not mean that they will not be infected.

If you’re looking for products you can use for home Parvo treatment, or for Parvo prevention, then you should check out our Value Packs, which contain Parvaid, Vibactra Plus, Life Cell Immune Support and, in the Gold Value Pack, Doggie Pain Relief.

Bye bye back yard is called many times each day
Every hour or two, it always seems that way
Doggies going outside to do their business
Dashing around and barking with lustiness
It’s fun to watch them, when the weather is fine
Not such good fun, though, when the sun doesn’t shine
Glad, in that case, when they come back inside fast
Perhaps it’s the lure of their snacky repast
As they run back indoors, each at their own speed
Ginger’s the quickest, it’s more like a stampede
Ever looking for seconds, so hopefully
Such pleasure from having a great family

I have been doing some research about dog death and how it effect’s their owners, because I am still so sad about my dog Magnum’s death. As well, my other dog Sonny, who was Magnum’s son, is depressed and all of a sudden he is having trouble getting up.

What I have found out is that we are perfectly normal in loving our dog who was our best friend for so long. My dog was here for 14 1/2 years. My other dog Sonny has never been alone. Where ever Magnum was, there was Sonny. Sonny was always resting his head on Magnum’s butt. The three of us have been quite a team for quite some time.

I am actually surprised by the depth of the loss that I feel. I know that my friends and family really don’t understand how much I still miss my dog. Some people actually say to me “he was only a dog”. I am totally offended by this, as my Magnum was my best friend. How can anyone say that about my dog. I feel the same amount of grief, or maybe even more, that I would feel if a relative or friend had died.

It is important to me to find wherever possible, all the support and compassion that I can find to feel like I am being comforted. I have found for me that I have a few friends that I can call on. They have had or do have pets. I have had great support from my minister ( who suggested to me to have a funeral for Magnum). I have also found support in some of the dog forums as well.

The most important point I would like to stress to anyone who has another animal, is to support the dog that remains. They are going through their own grief. I wish that Sonny could talk, but as he can’t I hope that he knows, and I am trying to show him how much I love him and care about him.

Here are a few facts about Canine Parvovirus (also known as CPV, Parvo virus, or more commonly known as Parvo) that you probably don’t know about:

The problem is, once your dog is infected, there are about 3-15 days where no symptoms are visible, but the virus is consuming large amounts of bone marrow, then moving on to consume and destroy a huge number of cells in the intestines – a lot of damage occurs at this stage.

When your doggie becomes infected and shows any of these symptoms (yellow frothy vomit, diarrhea [with or without blood], lethargy/no energy, no appetite, wobbly, dehydration, very depressed, etc.) then he may only have a few hours to 4 or 5 days left if he is not treated immediately.

Dogs can easily become infected in any number of ways, e.g. touching infected bodily fluids (saliva, vomit, urine, etc.), touching waste products (fecal matter), nose-to-nose contact, from your clothes, shoes, car tires, insects, birds, or other critters.

Parvo can exist in the ground from a few months to as long as twenty (20) years.

Parvo is incredibly hardy: it can survive boiling water (212 degrees F or 100 degrees C) and freezing temperatures (32 degrees F or 0 degrees C).

If your dog does have Parvo and you take him to the vet’s, be prepared to spend anywhere from $500 to over $6,000 USD per dog, and your vet will probably only give the dog a 50% chance of surviving the virus.

The current Parvo Hot Spot areas are primarily south of I-70 (Utah, going all across the southern US states to Maryland).

Some of the hardest hit states include Texas, California, Arizona, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, Tennessee and Alabama, but almost every US state and other countries outside of the USA are starting to experience Parvo outbreaks as well.

Are there any options for a Home Parvo Treatment or a natural Parvo Remedy?

The first thing you need to do is to become more educated about this horrific virus, and you can do this by downloading our free, comprehensive ebook, Parvo Treatment 101 – in there you will find a large section on Parvo Prevention and several methods to treat Parvo.

If your dog has begun to show any of the symptoms listed above, then you have to move fast, so read our free book later and immediately go read our Home Parvo Treatment FAQs, find the Parvo Emergency Tea Recipe – it will not treat Parvo nor will it prevent Parvo, but it is a stop-gap measure to prevent your dog from becoming dehydrated until you can get a Parvaid Gold Value Pack.

We will also send additional much-needed emergency measures to you via email – since your Parvaid Value Pack will be shipped via a FedEx Overnight service, your dog may need additional measures to help him out until your products arrive.

We will help you day or night (24 x 7 customer support as you’ll have very little time to save your dog’s life).

Is your dog hyper (or hyperactive), is he bored and tearing stuff up, does he need a change of pace?

Then give him something to do. Most dogs like to explore and find out new things. They also like routines that they’ve mastered and come to love. So, if your dog needs some action, then here’s a fun activity that both of you can do:

http://doggievids.com/?video_id=NCAbF9577Mc&tag=dog

If you like that video, then you’re in for loads more. On our new DoggieVids site, you’ll find lots of interesting videos on all your favorite dog breeds. You’ll also see many fun things that dogs can do.

Have you seen any talking dogs lately? Well, these dogs sing for their supper!

http://doggievids.com/?video_id=ZCYaw5tGYAs&tag=dog

If you need a partner to play some of your Wii games, get Fido to give you a challenge!

http://doggievids.com/?video_id=HSdn4zRPydU&tag=dog

If you think your day is bad, see what Faith had to overcome!

http://doggievids.com/?video_id=qLXHvBFG-CI&tag=dog

This just shows that it is possible to do lots of very positive things with your dog. Use your imagination. If you see that your dog likes to go on “safari”, then you know your dog is active and seeks some adventure. Play a game with him, hide some of his favorite doggie bones in the yard and tell him to find them. Show him the first one, then guide him to find a couple more. Give this new game a name. Then every so often tell him that you’re going to play this new game. Get excited and he will too. Hide some bones and let him find them.

This is just one simple thing you can do to break up the monotony. Find safe, positive activities that both you and your dog can do together. This will make an even stronger bond between the two of you, and if he’s busy having fun then there’s no time or energy to tear things up!

My dog is sick. What should I do? Should I take him to vet or try to treat him at home?

This question is not as black and white as it may have been in the past. Granted there have been many innovations in small animal medicine, but there is a price for progress.

If your dog has been hit with bad genes, as many breeds are due to inappropriate breeding-for-profits-without regard to any genetic considerations whatsoever, then you’ll know all too well the cost of dog ownership has skyrocketed.

If you have a large breed of dog then you know that there are at least 100 or more large-breeds (including the giants – dogs over 200 lbs [90.72 kg]) that are prone to hip dysplasia (a painful, crippling, hereditary disease that can cause complete lameness or greatly reduced mobility in dogs, especially the large breeds). Now, if your dog is so unfortunate to have this condition, his life will be pain-filled – just getting up will be a struggle.

Who would want to see their dog in pain? What do you do? If you take him to the vet and they say surgery, that means be prepared to write a blank check. You could easily spend $5,000/hip minimum. Indeed that is expensive, but you cannot allow your dog to be in pain all of time, you cannot carry him to bathroom, he’s a dog and he’s meant to have dignity and enough free will to be able to conduct day-to-day activities unassisted.

This of course brings up many issues. It will be necessary to look into all of the options available to you. Certainly, there are now many products on the market that may bring relief by reducing friction/swelling/inflammation, providing necessary lubrication, stimulating the immune system, and increasing cell regeneration for damaged cells, etc. You may find that chemical-free/natural products can help your dog to have some semblance of normalcy until you can budget the money for surgery, if that is what is warranted.

Organic, chemical-free, herbal products can provide many safe alternatives to drugs. The problem is, as a responsible pet owner, you must do research on a regular basis in order to know about alternative products.

Here’s a common problem we see day in and day out:

I am sorry that I cannot purchase your product today, due to the fact that I wasted too much at the vet’s yesterday. If my dog “Mack” lasts thru tomorrow, I might be able to borrow enough to try and save him. Thank you anyway. John

This is very sad, and gut-wrenching. How is it possible that people have to think of borrowing money just to save their dog? Or even worse, we know of at least one vet that admits 75% of his clients must put their dogs down because they cannot afford his treatments for Parvo. Or have you heard about this new term “depopulation”? So, what in the world does that mean? Yep, that’s right it is code-speak for killing dogs because there is no funding for a shelter to treat their Parvo outbreak.

This is staggering and almost incomprehensible. If there are so many innovations in small animal medicine, why do people still have to decide if they can afford to treat their animals or have to put them down?

This is really frustrating why there is not enough talk about solutions other than the easy way out – i.e. destroying animals.

Now a lot of people will say:”It is just a dog or just cat, why worry about them, they’re not your children.” Well, as far as we’re concerned, that is total BS. We have eight dogs and they ARE our children. We will fight for them to the end. We will do whatever we can. Our dogs are with us 24/7, some sleep with us (it’s their choice), they have free-feeding of premium dry dog food, and after we eat we save some for them (e.g. fruit, fruit juice, vegetables, chicken, oatmeal, etc.) They feel that they are part of our family, not just walking stuffed toys.

When it comes to health issues, we have made the decision to treat them at home. This is partly due to our location, we’re in a little rural area and the vet clinics here are sparse at best, and frankly we hate drugs since for the most part they do more harm (both short and long-term) than good. Now, if mainstream Western medicine practitioners are scarce, then holistic types are even harder to find in most areas. So, for us it is clear that we must rely upon ourselves as much as possible and prevent/contain problems long before there are any real threats to any of our dogs.

Now mind you, this philosophy did not happen overnight. Ten years ago, three of our dogs came down with Parvo (one by one). So, we had no other choice but to take them to the vet and be prepared to pay whatever she wanted. At that time, the bill was over $700 USD which was a lot for three Chihuahuas (all under 10 lbs or 4.54 kg). There was never any thought of doing anything else but seek immediate treatment and promptly pay whatever the bill was.

Today, in the new modern world, it is not uncommon to hear of vets charging anywhere from $500 – $6,000 per dog to treat them for Parvo. So, now we can see how it is possible to find yourself wondering how in the world you will be able to pay for the vet bills.

As with most things, it can be rather complicated, but you need to be able to save your animals without skipping your rent note, or not paying your electricity bill, or not buying groceries, etc. You DO NOT want to have to make those kinds of choices. Careful planning is in order. Don’t wait until your dog is on his last legs to start researching options. Do your research now and be prepared.

This is what we did: we ordered some safe herbal products that have NO Side Effects, treat a lot of common conditions, and have a long shelf life (4 years or more). At any time, we have enough products to treat all eight of our dogs if, let’s say, all of them came down with Parvo at the same time. We also have our day-to-day supply which we use for little stuff like upset stomachs, vomiting, bad indigestion, moping around, lethargy, parasites, etc.

Case in point, recently one of our eight, a 60 lb (27.22 kg) female Catahoula Leopard dog, came in the house and was really moping around. She had very little energy compared to her norm, so after an hour of this it was time to take action. We gave her a dose (15 drops put in some food) of Vibactra Plus, which is an herbal antibiotic with a built in antiparasitic; then a couple of hours later another dose. Still there was no real change, so we then brought out the big guns. The third dose (15 drops/product) consisted of Vibactra Plus, Parvaid, and Life Cell. Did this twice, she came back into the house flying. She was back to normal. All of this was over a course of around six hours or so. We never really exactly found out what was wrong, but since we live in a rural area, the dogs love to go on safari. What they don’t count on, is that some snacks bite back.

We are extremely fortunate in that we are around the dogs all of time (literally 24/7) and we’ve developed really strong observational skills. If any of them look out of sorts or are acting strangely, we’re all on top of it immediately. By giving Crystal the products super fast, whatever was upsetting her system had no chance because we crushed it long before it could ever really get started. This is how we save so much money in vet bills, because we have the products on hand at all times and when the dogs are sick we deal with it within the hour.

OK, now how did we know what to get and how much of it? That was easy, we filled out the form on our Product Selector, and it came back with a recommendation. We told it that we had eight dogs (we fill out the weights for all of them), they were sick for one day, no fevers, and had bloody diarrhea. It came back and told us that we needed about $500 worth of products. Seems high, but do the math, $500 for all eight dogs or $500/single dog at the vet’s office…hmm.

In this case, we actually ordered more than the recommended minimum products, the idea that we would have enough stock for a big emergency (e.g. all of them were infected with Parvo) as well as some extra bottles for day-to-day little things. We’ve been using the products for small issues and things are great. We’ve had no adverse reactions; we’ve squelched some problems and nipped them in bud. We’re very happy with the performance of the products. We strongly recommend that you have a minimal set of these products on your shelf at all times. This way, you won’t have to make hard choices about saving your dog or paying your rent.

Just fill out the form on our Product Selector and it will tell you what you need. If you don’t have the money today, plan for it. Start putting a little away each week until you have enough. If you’re wondering where that will come from, try to remove any unnecessary expenses (fast food places, Starbucks, etc.) If your dog could help you he would – it is our responsibility as pet owners to provide proper health care.

The question is, will you be prepared?
