Fun Stuff With Fido
Rae and Mark December 10th, 2007
Is your dog hyper (or hyperactive), is he bored and tearing stuff up, does he need a change of pace?
Then give him something to do. Most dogs like to explore and find out new things. They also like routines that they’ve mastered and come to love. So, if your dog needs some action, then here’s a fun activity that both of you can do:

If you like that video, then you’re in for loads more. On our new DoggieVids site, you’ll find lots of interesting videos on all your favorite dog breeds. You’ll also see many fun things that dogs can do.
- Have you seen any talking dogs lately? Well, these dogs sing for their supper!
- If you need a partner to play some of your Wii games, get Fido to give you a challenge!
- If you think your day is bad, see what Faith had to overcome!
This just shows that it is possible to do lots of very positive things with your dog. Use your imagination. If you see that your dog likes to go on “safari”, then you know your dog is active and seeks some adventure. Play a game with him, hide some of his favorite doggie bones in the yard and tell him to find them. Show him the first one, then guide him to find a couple more. Give this new game a name. Then every so often tell him that you’re going to play this new game. Get excited and he will too. Hide some bones and let him find them.
This is just one simple thing you can do to break up the monotony. Find safe, positive activities that both you and your dog can do together. This will make an even stronger bond between the two of you, and if he’s busy having fun then there’s no time or energy to tear things up!
